Feral cats are often misunderstood. A cat living outside and afraid of people is not a bad cat but, often a scared cat. Some feral cats have never had homee or love. Some feral cats have never found people they could trust so, it takes patience.
Over the years, Zolaente has had the opportunity to help many feral cats, feral mother cats and kittens. Some were frightened. Some were extremely wild. Some would not come close to a person. Once you tame a feral cat they make the most loving pets.
With patience, food, safety and love, many feral cats learn love and trust. They start to understand not all people are dangerous. Those ferals learn a house is safety and not a trap. Eventually, some ferals tame fast when they discover love and realize what it feels like to be loved. Cats need love & homes.

One of the most amazing things about helping animals is that sometimes the animal makes the decision for you.
A cat that once kept its distance may suddenly sit beside you. A kitten may decide your lap is the safest place in the world. A mother cat may trust you enough to bring her babies to you.
Those moments are impossible to manufacture. They have to happen naturally.
Some of the greatest moments are not when a cat first learns to trust you. They are when that cat finally gets the safe, loving forever home it deserves.

This will be where I update on Little Mother and her feral kittens that were born in the woods down the street but, luckily found her way to my home and brought her kittens.

We often talk about rescuing animals as though we are the ones doing all the saving.
But anyone who has truly lived with an animal knows there is another side to that story.
Animals teach us patience, love and trust. They teach us to notice the little things. They make us laugh when we need it. They sit beside us when words aren't enough.
Sometimes a frightened little animal that needed someone to save it ends up becoming the ones to really save us in life.
