On June 1st, I begged Hood County Animal Control to go ask the neighbor where the newborn kittens were. They told me they would call me back that day. They never did.
From June 1st through June 30th, every call I made went to voicemail. I left message after message. No one ever called me back.
The only time I spoke to a real person at Animal Control was June 30th — and only because the Sheriff’s Department kept sending me to Animal Control, and Animal Control kept sending me back to the Sheriff’s Department.
Throughout June, both Hood County Animal Control and the Hood County Sheriff’s Department repeatedly told me that the other department was pressing charges.
I personally informed each department that the other was NOT pressing charges. Even after being told the truth, neither department acted.
During my 911 call (when the neighbor’s adult daughter threatened me), an officer told me over the phone that the other officer found the kittens dead in the field and that the neighbor disclosed the location.
Later, when questioned by the Sheriff’s investigator, that same officer denied ever telling me that.
I do not know whether he lied to me or lied to the investigator — only that the story changed.
Despite the false police report, threats, cruelty, and contradictions, no one has been charged with any crime.
I sent the HOA all details about what happened — including the newborn kittens being dumped in a field, the false 911 report made by Ann, her adult daughter running into my yard threatening me, and my concern that they are luring cats to harm or kill them. One of the videos I sent them is the same video shown on this page, where Ann admits she put the kittens in a field and refuses to tell me where. The HOA reviewed that video and responded using the wording below.
The HOA stated that the videos “do not particularly show any proof of the kittens being dumped by the neighbor” and that “your voice overpowers hers,” so they felt they could not determine what the neighbor said.
Their response is included for transparency. Their inability or unwillingness to act does not change the fact that Ann’s admission is audible in the video, nor does it negate the evidence already provided.
